N'Balance

An evidence-based intervention for falls prevention

In July 2018, Benefits in Action acquired N'Balance, a program that uses exercise to teach techniques aimed at reducing the incidence of falls within the older adult population. Participants learn strategies to improve balance, coordination, posture, and gait and develop lower body and core strength. Through the classes, older adults increase their confidence in finding ways to navigate around physical barriers and decrease their fear of falling.

The instructors conduct assessments prior to and following the classes to analyze the participants' balance strengths and weaknesses. This information is used to develop progressive exercises to improve balance.
