Nearly 90% of our clients successfully gained Medicaid health coverage. They also had more preventive care visits and fewer emergency department visits.

 

A claims-based evaluation by the Center for Improving Value in Health Care (CIVHC) examined health care utilization among Benefits in Action participants before and after receiving application assistance from BIA for Colorado Medicaid coverage. The findings show that benefits navigation can do more than connect people to coverage. It can help people access health care by connecting them to primary care providers and reduce emergency department use.
