Denver Snow Angels is a Denver Human Rights & Community Partnerships' program to assist community members in Denver who are physically unable to shovel their front sidewalks, including adjacent ADA ramps and bus stops, during the cold winter months. This is a volunteer-based initiative created to connect neighbors with one another and to prevent possible fines for non-compliance with the City ordinance.
Per City ordinance, Denver requires that property owners clear snow and ice from their front sidewalks, including adjacent ADA ramps and bus stops, so that everyone has safe access throughout the city! Please be aware, while volunteers (Snow Angels) are encouraged to help with the clearing of front sidewalks and curb cuts in front of homes, as stated in the ordinance, volunteers do not remove snow in driveways or front steps, nor remove downed trees/branches on front walks.
Eligible applicants for this program include:
• Residents within the City and County of Denver
• Older adults who are physically unable to shovel
• Neighbors living with a disability
• Financially unable to pay for a service
To receive assistance, please call 720-913-SNOW (7669), email snowangels@denvergov.org or apply using the online form.
